What is your character name, what class do you play, and what level are you?
Darkwisdom - Priest -13 & Lains - Paladin - 21
What hours do you typically play? (Cite time zone as well.)
UK based so GMT+1 at moment. My hours can be very varied based on my wife and children and the Daddy taxi service! Generally I am on most evenings from 8pm Uk onward, I do however play during the day times some weeks based on work requirements.
What is your experience with World of Warcraft? (How long have you played, were you a raider, role-player, etc.)
I started my journey with WOW very close to the end of Vanilla having returned from university and finding that my years spent on guild wars during study where no longer keeping me satisfied, I finally had some disposable income and thought why not try this subscription based game everyone talks about! ....
From then on in I was completely hooked, created a mage and never looked back, still hold a fond memory of entering Karazhan at level 58 having joined a guild who took pity on me and let me tag along to help grind out the last few levels as TBC had been live for a while and I still had no hit level 60. Having been a mainly RPG player the concept of rushing through to level in anything was an odd concept and I enjoyed every minute of what would now be seen as a grind.
I stuck around for many many years after that and experienced most types of play, in Lich King competing for server first level 80 Druid and missing out by a few hours on shadowsong, chasing server first kills on a hardcore raid schedule and then..... it was time for marriage , children and a proper job
I still played in cata and into mop but seeing wow in a different light, more as a hobby then a fantasy job or way of life, but Cataclysm changed me as much as it did Azeroth, it just didn't feel the sane, the zones and lands that held so much nostalgia and memories where gone or different beyond recognition and the game didnt feel like home anymore, more and more of my long time friends and guild members started to drift away as real life took hold, that mad dash 23- 30 years old where work, family comes at you fast.
Fast forward few years and I returned for legion, enjoyed the lore and class halls, felt like real RPG elements had returned by the community, the toxic environment the world quests systems etc.. just didn't sit well with me and I left within a month, skipped BFA entirely until very recently which quit as soon as hit level cap in 8 hours played.
Classic is a different story, I played at launch on golemagg server, raced to 60 on a druid so could raid and realized that had become a retail minded slave to the meta, I stopped playing before even set foot in MC as no matter how many guilds joined I just couldn't find somewhere that felt like home, that just wanted to be back in Azeroth to be back , not with some end goal in mind.
If you got this far sorry for the wall of text, this has been an excellent activity to clear my mind of the WOW related stress you should charge
Why would you want to join Nighthaven? (Please note, we ask for your reasons for wanting to join -this- guild, not just any guild.)
I have been sitting reading the recruitment / server forums for months now, checking the top 3 EU servers, Pyrewood, mirage, Nethergarde waiting to come across a recruitment thread or advert that really gave me hope again, of finding a community, a home to return to Azeroth, 20 days ago hopefully I found it from a bump in a thread from sep 2019, each of the below statements was something I would search for, then I came across them all in one place and I worked though them in my head.
Do you also feel, that ‘It´s Dangerous To Go Alone’ in the world of Azeroth?
Leveling a paladin isn't dangerous, its the loneliness and slow pace that kills....
Are you searching for a well-established guild, that focuses on the journey through Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, together?
Yes... tell me more
Are you looking for a guild, that offers a safe and relaxed atmosphere?
Double yes...
A guild that values kinship, where we treat each other with respect and kindness?
this doesn't exist in wow 2020 right?
A guild where we go to great care to make each and every guild member feel welcome and included? Now its above my expectations!
Long story short, the website, the recruitment post, the care and love that goes into something often seen as simple as a recruitment process shouts quality, passion and a place I want to be.
Before I applied I wanted to get a feel for the server and the game again so I have been leveling a mage and paladin.... and hunter and warlock,, got them all to 20 and yeah im in it for the long run again!
Which qualities do you have to offer, and - what do you expect of your guild?
So you may not of guessed this but I have a tendency to talk and chat .. a lot...
What do I have to offer, well all I can put forward is my time, commitment and a willingness to help and be involved, an opportunity to invest in a new home is what I want, what I expect is a place that feels good to be.
Where did you hear of us?
Happy 1 year Anniversary Classic WoW and Pyrewood Village post from Alunaria on pyrewood forum.
Do you know any current or former member of Nighthaven (if so please cite the person)?
not had the pleasure in person but have come across guild members in low level dungeons
Anything else you would like to add to help us know if we´d be a good match for each other?
The only other thing I want to add as this point is that I truly am looking for a community to be part of and to join, I only have limited time in evenings now with home and work life so when I choose to spend that time I want it to mean something, that doesn't mean the latest shinny gear or fastest raid clears, it means finding value in my time by benefiting the community and the people I play with.
Kind regards
