1. What is your character name, what class do you play, and what level are you?
Lefthook, a lvl 10 (as of now) Rogue.
2. What hours do you typically play? (Please include time zone as well)
For the remainder of Spring and this Summer my schedule will be quite open, and I will be found online frequently from late morning - evening GMT until September, when my availability will trend towards weekends and evenings as I begin a PhD project.
3. What is your experience with World of Warcraft? (How long have you played, were you a raider, role-player, etc.)
I first logged on towards the tail end of TBC, during which I leveled like a clueless noob, but loved every minute of it. Then I became a bit more informed and dedicated during WotLK, raiding (mostly) normal 10/25 mans with a guild that I stuck with for that entire stretch and in which I found how much richer a strong sense of social community makes the playing experience. I dabbled in BGs, but have never gained any serious pvp experience, something I am also eager to explore a bit further.
4. What is your favorite thing about World of Warcraft Classic? (The community? The Immersion? The progression? Are you a fast leveller or do you like taking your time? Do you like doing dungeons and raids? Chatting with others? Or are you more the solo and quiet type? Tell us a bit about yourself
I really love the immersion on WoW Classic, and, as others have said, how the leveling experience itself is very much a crucial part of the game, and often rewards or requires small party collaboration. I also play D&D consistently and have sunken ungodly amounts of time into Bethesda RPGs like the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series amongst others, so I really do enjoy the RP aspect of WoW, and truly "smelling the flowers" as I level. I have never made it to end-game content in WoW classic, as I recently moved from the states and have started fresh on EU, so I would love to also keep a couple characters locked at 60, and eventually live the vanilla end-game out purely for the completion of story that I have not yet felt firsthand. Though I do also intend to main either this Rogue or my hunter in TBC classic.
5. Why would you want to join Nighthaven? (Please note, we ask for your reasons for wanting to join -this- guild, not just any guild)
Nighthaven seems like an excellent community of mature minds who love WoW for the right reasons, and who seek to build a social environment for the healthy enjoyment of such a celebrated game. I am seeking exactly this. My aspirations for my WoW classic experience are not to ever super-hardcore the game, but to maximize my enjoyment of the content by building valuable relationships within a tight-knit community of co-supportive players who see WoW for what it is ultimately- a game to be sandboxed / roleplayed / milked for all its worth in so many different possible ways, each strengthened by friends to do all of this alongside with.
6. Which qualities do you have to offer, and - what do you expect of your guild?
I offer Nighthaven my unbridled enthusiasm for WoW, and to be honest, a lot of my pent-up excitement to at long last experience much of the game I have never in the past had either the time or cognitive perspective to. For the first time ever, it seems, due to covid restrictions and my personal circumstances, I have a large window to jump start into leveling so as to be a consistently available guild member for max level content once the time comes that I do re-enter a "normal" life schedule. I hope to join Nighthaven so that I can forge relationships with players who love the game for the same reasons I do, and who might be available to collaborate functionally but also socially in the communal immersion of WoW, which adds invaluable richness to the journey.
7. Where did you hear of us?
I actually first stumbled on Nighthaven as I logged in to an alt (gnome mage) and saw a social gathering (possibly running of the gnomes?) assembling in Coldridge Valley. I immediately thought it was such a wonderful thing to see in WoW that I had been missing most for so long, and just plain looked fun to be a part of. Since then, I have occasionally ran into Nighthaven members in the world, some of whom I have whispered, all of whom have been very friendly and helpful, and I was guided to the application process this way.
8. Do you know any current or former member of Nighthaven? (If so please include the name of the person)
Not by name, though I regret not friending those aforementioned members in the moment, but I am confident I could recognize their names on a list, and hope to reconnect and thank them myself in the future.
9. Anything else you would like to add to help us know, if wed be a good match for each other?
Though I may be on the (slightly) younger side of average membership (according to the website), I would like to briefly state that I believe I bring the sort of maturity and love for the game and its possibility for community that Nighthaven seems to value above all else. I hope to find out more in a possible trial period, and look forward to chatting with officers / application managers if this is possible.
Thanks for considering me!
