Hello, thank you for taking the time to read through my application. This will be a joint application with my partner Kanati.
1. What is your character name, what class do you play, and what level are you?
Hi, my character's name is Mcfrisky. I play a feral druid and currently level 60. Ideally I would love to main a resto shaman once they become available for TBC prepatch onwards.
2. What hours do you typically play? (Please include time zone as well)
My time zone is GMT. When I am not working remotely due to covid, I am free from 5pm onwards as I start early. Currently I have a little more time to relax and enjoy this game at a more leisurely pace.
3. What is your experience with World of Warcraft? (How long have you played, were you a raider, role-player, etc.)
Ah where to begin.
Started WoW 3 months after it first released. A workmate of mine showed me the game and let me try it out on his level 13 druid. From that moment I was hooked!
In Vanilla I was very casual until I discovered these things called raids. Eventually I raided up until AQ20. I loved the relaxed atmosphere and sense of adventure and exploring.
In TBC I stepped up to raid leader and we cleared all content up to but not including Sunwell. I actually met my partner at the end of TBC when she applied to my guild. The rest is history! (she totally flirted with me first, don't believe a word she says!)
In WOTLK I become a little more hardcore, cleared all content on the hardest difficulty. Had many rank 1 feral druid parses. Was in a World top 50 guild. Pushed PVP rating a lot.
In CATA I once more raided all difficulties and cleared content trying to push myself but found that I had lost a lot of the enjoyment from the slower paced adventure seeking.
In MOP same as Cataclysm, did not enjoy the hardcore so much anymore so took a break from the game.
I have dabbled in the game since then, but found the prevalent attitude of "gogogo" to be everywhere and that just is not for me anymore. I have not played retail in quite a while.
4. What is your favorite thing about World of Warcraft Classic? (The community? The Immersion? The progression? Are you a fast leveller or do you like taking your time? Do you like doing dungeons and raids? Chatting with others? Or are you more the solo and quiet type? Tell us a bit about yourself
I am a quiet person but do try to make an extra effort to get to know my guildies. I like to get involved and often can be found rerunning the same dungeon multiple times to help out others that missed a quest item.
I love the first part of an expansion where everything is fresh and fun. I am very interested in dungeons and raids, but only in a relaxed and social manner. I am far too old for the "gogo" mentality ^^
The greatest loss in retail I believe, is the sense of community. When everyone is playing to min/max, it becomes more about number than people. I am a people guy.
5. Why would you want to join Nighthaven? (Please note, we ask for your reasons for wanting to join -this- guild, not just any guild)
I started classic as a way to recapture some of that magic. My partner and I started with a group of old friends and leveled slowly, had a laugh and enjoyed the content. Sadly they slowly started quitting the game until it was only us left. You are the first and only guild we are applying to as, realistically, you are the only guild that strikes us to have the same values as we share. The age compatibility is great, your welcoming atmosphere, the behavior requirements all speak to exactly what we have been searching for a long time but could never find.
6. Which qualities do you have to offer, and - what do you expect of your guild?
I offer a very laid back Irish lad, with a massive wealth of experience in the game. I offer a helping hand in any way I can to anyone in the guild. Hopefully I am offering a perfect fit to your little family.
I expect a mature, fun and social atmosphere where the emphasis is on the enjoyment of the group rather than hardcore progress. I really am looking for a home instead of any generic guild. As I mentioned, a focus on people (not generic numbers) is perfect.
7. Where did you hear of us?
You have no idea the amount of hours I spent trawling through forums after the announcement of TBC to try and find a place. I finally came upon yourselves, showed the website to my partner (some lovely art btw) and we both said yes.
8. Do you know any current or former member of Nighthaven? (If so please include the name of the person)
I have not yet had the pleasure.
9. Anything else you would like to add to help us know, if we´d be a good match for each other?
I hope I have stressed that I (we) am in no way looking for a min/max experience for TBC. A social relaxed atmosphere that still raid and partake in other activities together is perfect.
I am not raid ready for classic and as I mentioned, would love to play a resto shammy come TBC. I still play most days and would like to experience a nice atmosphere and get to know you all.
Also once more, this is a joint application with Kanati (hunter) who is my partner.
Thank you once more for reading through my APP. I hope you don't mind but I like to put in as much info as I can so you can gather a realistic view on myself as an addition to the guild.
