1. What is the name, class and level of your main character on Pyrewood Village?
Jarls - Warrior - Level 60
2. What hours do you typically play? (Please include time zone as well)
GMT/BST (UK based). I play rather eclectic hours, mostly during the week: early mornings and during the working day as home working permits (long conference calls are the best!). I will also play occasionally on evenings and weekends where I can fit it around the missus and my D&D schedule (in that order, in case she is reading this!).
3. What is your experience with World of Warcraft? (How long have you played, were you a raider, role-player, etc.)
I have played since UK launch of vanilla, always played a warrior. My first character was Jarl, a human warrior on Turalyon. When I came back to the game at the end of WotLK someone had nicked the name so Jarl became Jarly, and went through a few phases being a human, a worgen and currently a dwarf.
As a Fury warrior I raided MC and AQ20 in Vanilla, everything in BC, Cata, Mists. I dropped out of raiding from WoD onwards, but continued playing. I also enjoy tanking 5 man content, particularly back in the BC to Mists era, though I never got into Mythic+.
4. What is your favorite thing about World of Warcraft Classic? (The community? The Immersion? The progression? Are you a fast leveller or do you like taking your time? Do you like doing dungeons and raids? Chatting with others? Or are you more the solo and quiet type? Tell us a bit about yourself
The nostalgia and the questing drew me back. I always found the concept of there being parts of the game that were beyond me, like high level raiding, actually appealing as it made the game seem big and "real". Retail has too much bloat, complex grindy systems (rather than simple ones!) and I find the narrative too "single player hero" focused, rather than feeling like being an individual in a larger world.
At the start of Classic I really enjoyed the positive environment, with people helping others and proactively looking to group up etc, and though this has faded over time, I hope that entering BC in the right guild will foster this.
5. Which goals do you have in TBC and what do you look forward to the most in the expansion? (Provided you intend to play TBC)
My goal is to have fun. Unlike vanilla TBC where I was one of the first in my guild to hit 70 (lots of late nights and not much else to do), I expect I will take my time. I am looking forward to dungeons, and I really can't wait for Karahzan as I have some wonderful memories of that place. Drunken Friday night Kara was always a treat back in 2007!
6. Why would you want to join Nighthaven? (Please note, we ask for your reasons for wanting to join -this- guild, not just any guild)
I have been recommended this guild by a friend and retail guild member Loy (sorry mate, can never do your fancy Os) as being a great place to enjoy the game. Having read through your website and understood the focus and ethos of the guild it seems like a perfect place for me.
7. Which qualities do you have to offer, and - what do you expect of your guild?
Handsome, witty, generous and modest? Seriously though, I am not likely to play the most hours, be the best theory crafter, or even take the role of raid leader (or other activity). What I can offer is a core competency of my favourite class, years of experience of the game and a genuine excitement and enthusiasm for it as we go into the new expansion. I think most importantly though, I'm not a dickhead.
8. Where did you hear of us?
Recommended by Loy (sorry no fancy O again).
9. Do you know any current or former member of Nighthaven? (If so please include the name of the person)
Loy (I've not even tried to find the fancy O, if I am honest).
10. Anything else you would like to add to help us know, if we´d be a good match for each other?
I'm a good cook?
